First of all, in case of version upgrade, registered clients will never be charged more than 50% of the new price. Versions are characterized by significant improvements, while small additions or corrections are revisions, which are provided at no cost. To make it clear, revisions of version 2 are numbered 2.01 or 2.1 and so, while an eventually new version will appear as 3.0.

As the unlocking password becomes invalid in case of system modifications (substitution, upgrades, updates, formatting, etc.), registered users are entitled to receive new passwords, for all their lifetime, at no extra cost (but under certain conditions).

Rules for new (free) passwords
We do not fix any direct limit for the number of passwords or its frequency, as they shall not be seen as a cumulative right (for example, 2 years without asking for new passwords will not give you the right to obtain 3 or 4 passwords in a row). Also, it must be seen that asking for new passwords in a 3-months interval is acceptable, but only as an accidental fact, and not as a normal frequency. So, as a reference, we could say that 3 months is an acceptable minimum interval. However...

This rule is not an absolute law. We may provide new passwords in smaller intervals, but not as an obligation. In such decision, we will consider your history, regarding new passwords, and any arguments you may want to send us. Anyway, we now recommend that people in the process of changing or upgrading their computers shall avoid buying our licence, up to the moment they can rely on their new hard disks. If you are not planning to do so, don't worry. Hard disks are reliable enough.

And we are flexible enough to deal with normal people (and normal situations).

However, if you modify your system every 3 months or so, requiring a new password in such frequency, we may not be as flexible as you need. As mentioned, that would be an acceptable minimum interval, but not a reasonable frequency.

Please note that we do not recommend multiple installations as a solution for this problem. They are a natural alternative if you want to use Decifra in more than one computer. However, as they multiply the 'reasonable' frequency by 2 or 3, they can also be used, under mutual agreement, as a paliative solution for situations with critically high frequency of password claiming).

These rules may be modified at any time, but always keeping their principles:
Registered users will always be entitled to receive new passwords, under reasonable conditions.
